Using real world examples and team exercises, this one-day course teaches:

• The concept of performance-based regulations (otherwise known as performance standards and results-based regulations)

• The relationship between performance-based regulations and prescriptive regulations

• Issues to consider and analytical skills needed to write performance-based regulations

Attendees will learn to use the broad spectrum of regulatory options to provide appropriate flexibility and clarity to the regulated entities while satisfying the agency's regulatory goals.
